Notes From Bro. Doug:

Thank the Lord for our Women On Mission. They are working and serving like never before. After the bake sale at Wal-Mart we just might reach our goal of $3,000.00 for the Annie Armstrong Easter offering. The WOM made 79 Easter baskets for area kids through the DFS. Keep leading our missions efforts ladies, you are doing great.

It was so great for our deacons to give a motion of "Blessings" to our youth committee at our recent business meeting. They are working hard for our youth program.

Over 160 crosses have been placed around town by our youth & youth committee. Praise the Lord for the open opportunity to preach Christ.

P.R.A.I.S.E. group to minister!!! our kids under the direction of Morgan Treece will present their Easter program April 1st at 6:00 pm. Everyone come!

We are supporting the Temple Baptist Easter Egg Hunt on April 7th at England Park. We will have our jumps our there and we will be making hot dogs & kool aid too. 1:00 pm registration, 2:00 pm Egg Hunt. If you want to help, see Bro. Doug.

Make sure you sign up for our 1st session of sharing Jesus without fear. The cost is $10.00 and includes a meal. It is on April 28th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

In Christ,

Bro. Doug

First Baptist Youth News

This month has flown by! Your First Baptist Youth have again had a busy month. We are very proud of the support and encouragement given to the youth members and the youth committee from the Pastor, Deacons and the members of First Baptist Church.

On March 4th, our Youth participated in the evening service by singing and the puppets also came to visit with two songs. The youth were very excited to be asked by the Women On Mission to help start the Annie Armstrong Mission Week of Prayer.

On March 11th, we had a very good youth attendance for revival. Brother Ron Shrum brought a great message each night. We were so proud to see the amount of youth in attendance on every night of the revival.

The Youth have been practicing a puppet skit and a song that they will perform on Palm Sunday evening service. We will perform before Children P.R.A.I.S.E. group performs their play. Please come to church and bring your family and friends to be blessed by the message from all of our children and youth on this night. Let’’s fill the church up!!

On March 17th, several Youth members and Youth committee members and Bro. Doug split up into three teams and put out over 150 crosses for Easter. We want to thank all of you who have supported this fundraising event. The crosses did exactly what we wanted. Help raise money for sure, but the most important thing that happened is PEOPLE started talking about them and then several of us have been able to tell several lost souls about the man Jesus, who gave his life to save us on that old rugged cross. PRAISE THE LORD! The money raised will go into the youth fund for camp and other activities.

On March 18th, the youth welcomed you back to the 80’’s with a burger, fries and shake dinner after the service. We worked very hard to make your dining experience with the youth one to remember. We had a lot of fun dressing up and decorating the fellowship hall. Pac-Man fever ran rampant that day! It was like a totally good time and totally awesome! Again thanks for the support! The money raised at the diner will help us get to our goal of paying for church camp. We are going to try and have the diner at least once a month. Please take the time to come back and eat with us on those days.

On March 24th, We loaded up the church van and went to an associational youth rally in Steele. Bro. Michael Funderburk and their youth leaders Jim and Michelle Clark did a very good job. We ate pizza till we were stuffed and then received a very blessed message from a rather large pastor who was bending steel bars in his mouth and crushing full cans of soda with his bare hands. You guessed it, it was a strength message from God through Pastor Adam Burton. It was very entertaining and he gave a very good message. As a bonus to the evening we went to Blytheville and got Baskin and Robbins ice cream. Ohhh sooo Good!! Pink Bubble gum would be a good flavor to try. Ice cream first and gum to chew after, it don’’t get better than that!!

We are getting ready to start another fundraising event. This time it’’s Pasta Time! The pasta is theme oriented; we have college football teams, cats, dogs, cooking, etc. Just get with one of the youth and they will have the form for you to pick from. These items make great gifts and taste good as well.

Keep Praying!

Great Big Thanks

A special thank-you to those who helped and attended the Beth Moore Study "Get out of that Pit" this past Saturday. It was a blessing to spend time with some awesome ladies and learn how to give our pain to the Lord and to stay out of the pits of life. I also want to thank Bro Doug for the great snacks, Mom for the cakes, Morgan for the delicious cookies, and Bill for just being there with me throughout. We were blessed at the opening of the study with Phillip Barksdale's praise and worship music! Thank you for spending part of your Saturday with us using your tremendous talent! It was a great way to start the day. I will look forward to the next study! Thanks again to the ladies who came....you are an inspiration!

Love, Christy
