Notes From Bro. Doug:

Thank you FBC members and friends for being so generous in giving to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. You surpassed the goal of $3,000.00 by over $700.00. God will continue to bless you and the church for your generosity as you support the Kingdom through this church.

A huge thanks goes to Phillip and the Worship choir with the presentation of "Believe." It was such a great experience and Peggy and I loved being a part of that ministry worship service. Many of you have expressed how much it meant to you and your families.

Many of our women went to the conference at Temple Baptist Church. Everyone said they enjoyed the service and received a blessing from Laura’s Presentation. That is a great event that Temple puts on and their women do a great job pulling it all together every year.

I hope you are making plans to be with us on Easter Sunday and that you are bringing your family and a friend. Let’s try to fill God’s house up and have a great day of worship. We will meet at the river at 7:00 am for the SonRise service then got to the church for a brotherhood sponsored pancake and sausage breakfast. We are shooting for 100 in Sunday School and 175 in Worship. Come and let’s worship our Risen Savior.

On Sunday April 3rd we will be observing the Lord’s Supper and then that evening we are adding a Spring Family Picnic to our yearly events. Bring sides, desserts, chairs and games. The church will provide the chicken and the bread and the paper goods. Let’s gather about 4:30 pm and eat about 5:00 pm. Everyone Welcome!!!

Our church council meets quarterly to keep events and services calendared so that we won’t be doubling up very often between ministries. We also brain storm ways to help promote fellowship and bridging age barriers at FBC. Our next meeting is Monday April 4th at 7:00 pm. We will be looking at the church calendar through August.

We are getting ready for another great Revival on April 24th - 27th. Bro. Joe Wright will be back with us again and Bro. Jim Clark will be leading our music. On April 10th you will be given 2 cards to pass out to invite people to the revival and to the 2 meals we will have during revival week. Make plans to attend and see what God has for you to learn and understand.

Women On Mission:

Thank you, Thank you, for all of your hard work on the Easter Baskets for the foster children. We prepared 59 baskets and DFS picked them up on March 21, to distribute to the children. I was told by DFB that most of the time what we give is usually all the children get. If you will check the clearance isle after Easter, you will be able to get Easter goodies for next years baskets for a discounted price,

The soup and sandwich luncheon is still on for April 17, immediately after morning services. All proceeds will go to the outdoor nativity set that WOM is wanting to purchase. I believe it will be a beautiful asset to the church during the Christmas season. If you would be willing to make a dessert or soup for this luncheon, please let me know.

WOM met on March 7, for a rag doll making class. We had much fun learning how to make rag dolls for our Samaritan Purse boxes and mission trips. Some got the hang of it quick and some well let me say, they are cutting the material for the dolls. All in all a good time was had by all.

I encourage all ladies of all ages to come and join us in Women on Mission, I believe we have something to interest each and everyone. Have a Blessed Resurrection Day!

Life is too short, the world is too big, and God’s love is too great to live an ordinary life. Refuse to be ordinary! Take one extraordinary step today!

FBC Worship Choir

This past Sunday night, we presented, "Believe". I think it went really well and I hope that God used us to inspire you to a deeper and more committed walk with Him. I’m really proud of how our choir is growing spiritually, physically and in sound! They just blow me away every time they sing. We will be putting together a special piece for Memorial Day and believe it or not, I will begin previewing Christmas projects within the next month. I just wanted to say how proud I am of this group and how humbled and grateful I am to be able to lead them and you in worship to our King!

It’s real easy to join the choir; just show up Wednesday night after church! Remember: God gave you talent for a reason..to use for His glory!

Singing His Praises,

Extreme Arts & FBC Worship Choir:

For our Spring production this year, we will be doing a review of some of the musicals, skits, human videos, etc. that we have done over the last 4 years. This will include selections from Live It to the Max, Friends Forever, Room 77, 2 Extreme the Musical, and more. We will also be doing some new stuff for this special night. We will present this production called, "Extreme Review" (Yes, I thought that up all by myslef!), on April 17th at 6:00 pm. Please come and be a part of this ministry. We meet every Sunday evening at 5:00 pm in the choir room. Special rehearsals for this presentation will be April 15th at 7:00 pm and April 16th at 6:00 pm. On the 16th, I will provide supper. We will also be having a Lock-In/work night on April 1st from 8:00 pm - April 2nd at 6:00 am. If you could volunteer to help chaperone, we really need you. You can work in shifts if you can’t stay the whole night.

Youth News:

Hello Everyone! We have gone through 2 of our 3 weeks of "Spiritual Disciplines." We have talked about the importance of disciplining ourselves to intentionally slow the pace in our life in order to be close to God and be used by Him. Also, we have talked about how we can discipline ourselves to memorize scripture. Our third week will be about disciplining ourselves in our prayer life.

The month of March we did our cross ministry. We met at the church on March 5th at 9:00 am to go out to put the crosses in the yards. Then on March 19th we again met at the church at 9:00 am to pick up the crosses. They are now displayed in the church yard through Easter. This is always a powerful sight. These crosses are a great witnessing tool to help you tell someone about what Jesus has done for each of us this Easter. Thank you to everyone’s support of this ministry. Also a big thank you to the youth that came out to help and to Chris Riggs, Hope Bynum, Cindy Grissom and Pam Bullington for helping on both these dates.

On March 6th, the adult choir performed "Believe". This was such an awesome night. But I am so proud of our youth that were a part of it. They all did a wonderful job.

We are going to plan a trip to the movies again on April 9th to see "God’s Not Dead 2." we will leave the church at noon. They will need to bring money to eat. Movie passes will be provided to get in.

On April 29 - 30 we will do the 30 Hour Famine. We will begin at 6:00 pm on that Friday and we will break our fast at 10:00 pm Saturday. This will not be easy. But it is an eye opening experience for everyone. Our faith in God will guide us in this. God tells us in Psalm 146:5-7, to put our hope and trust in Him. Through Him, great things can happen, but we must be faithful. It is up to us now to hear those words and act. To be transformed and to transform the lives of others. Our challenges align with various development initiatives World Vision undertakes in countries like Kenya, from shelter and water to education and food. We will also be doing community service. There will also be games. We will try to keep them as busy as possible. The kids will get their forms the second week of April to collect funds to be sent to World Vision. They will also get permission forms. They will not be allowed to do the famine without a signed permission slip.

Please be in prayer for us as we prepare for these activities. We have a lot going on and coming up, so please encourage your youth to be faithful in their attendance. As always, I thank you for allowing me to walk with and beside your kids. They are such a blessing to me!

God Bless,

Kristy Riggs

Our new year is in full swing with the children’s missions class. Paige Gillock and Michael Santschi are teaching the children many of the fundamental Bible stories we are all acquainted with. The children are also learning about what missionary families are doing for the Lord in other countries around the world.

We would love for your little ones up to 4th grade to join us every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.

Please pray for Paige & Michael and the children they serve.
