Notes From Bro. Doug:

We’ve had a great July. It is hard to believe August is already here. I hope you plan on being faithful in August.

We are having a "No Excuse" Day at FBC, that date is Sunday August 21st. Your pastor is declaring that NO Excuse will be accepted for anyone’s absence in Sunday School or in morning worship that morning. We are setting a goal of 125 for Sunday School and 175 for morning worship. Make sure you are there and invite someone.

The Boyd Family can’t thank you enough for your support given to Laura. Thank you for your prayers and support as she serves Jesus.

There are many jobs to fill this year. There are many people deciding not to fill their jobs for the next year. So this leaves many open spots. If you want to serve and not sure where, come see the pastor and explore the possibilities. Jesus is worth our service to Him. What will He say to you when you meet Him face to face one day?

Dear Wonderful Members of First Baptist,

I can not thank you enough for the send off last Sunday night. Even if we were in the dark and storming a HUGH crowd came out. Thank you for the gifts and spending money for my training. I love you all and thanks for your continued prayers.

                                                                                                                              Laura Boyd

Items will be collected to give each child a personal hygiene kit . The items that can be donated are: nail clippers, bath soap, hard soap, shampoo packets, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, laundry detergent packets, dish liquid packets, anti septic cream, ORS (oral rehydration solution), bring supplies to FBC as you get them. The Gospel will be spread using these kits.

Mission Moments:

Women on Mission have voted to send a child to church camp. They will the pay the tuition for one child to go this year.

The ladies are sponsoring a "Send Off For Laura" Sunday evening July 24th immediately following the service. Please come and offer your prayers and support as Laura begins her training for missions. Words, letters and cards of encouragement would be welcome, I’m sure.

Our next meeting will be held at JoAnn Morgan’s home on August 8th at 6:00 pm. The theme will be, "Go For Broke". This will be the last time I will attend as your leader, so pray that God will bless our organization with a new and dedicated WMU/WOM Director in the coming year. I know He has great things in store for us come September!

My sincere thanks to all those of you who have served as officers and committee members, and to those who have faithfully attended the meetings and participated in all our mission efforts and the various ministries during the past nine years. I love you all and it has been a blessing to serve you!

                                                                                                                                                      Prayerfully yours,

                                                                                                                                                         Jo Ann Manz

From the Pastor:

When you know of a church member going into the hospital and need a visit or a prayer from the pastor or a deacon, please call the pastor or the church office.

I know that hospital visits and nursing home visits are a weakness of my ministry, so I am going to try to do better in this area. But I need family members’ help and your help to do my job better.

Youth News from Daniel’s Den:

Well, it’s the last month of summer before school starts back up and things get even more crazy for all of us. As the temperatures keep rising and it seems that we will never see 80 again, much less the 70's, but some awesome news from the summer is that the students have grown so much together these past few months and it’s an awesome blessing to be a part of. Many students have made decisions from first time Christians to calls to ministry. We now have the challenge of discipling these students and growing them up in their walk with Christ. We recently had an awesome Youth Service where the students worked very hard and we received HUGE blessings through their witness.

Students, please stay in prayer not only for each other but for your youth committee as we continue to try to meet and plan events and things for you guys. Make sure to try to come to all the youth meetings to keep up with details on events that are being planned. Also remember yourself, and your individual walks with Christ, and continue growing in these.

Some events that we are going to be planning as a youth committee coming up are the Lock In that was discussed a few months back, A float trip up to Van Buren, and some other possibilities that are being brought up as we speak. We, as the youth committee would like to thank the church body for their continued support and prayers for us as we meet and try to plan these things and keep showing the love of Christ.

As always, April and I would love to thank all of you for your comments, support, and most of all love as we continue to try to minister here as we feel Christ would have it done. We make mistakes, we have trials, and we most certainly fall short sometimes. Even then, you continue the random hugs, comments of support, and most of all felt prayers just when we need them. It is hard to express with words just how much this means to us.

In HIS Hands,

Daniel’s phone 502-758-0108

April’s phone 502-758-1799
