A Word From Your Pastor:
Merry Christmas First Baptist! This month has the second-best holiday that we enjoy every year. Easter obviously is the most important holiday we celebrate in the Spring but without Christmas there would be no Easter. All the prophesy about Christmas in the Old Testament confirms without a doubt the coming of a Savior that we have in Christ Jesus the Messiah
coming to the earth in the flesh showing us how to live our lives in Him.
This month we sing all the Christmas songs that we have known for years proclaiming a King has come to us. Silent Night, Noel, and all the others gets us into the Christmas Spirit as we prepare for our Savior’s Birth. The church looks beautiful as our women guided by Jo Ann Manz, is decorated for this important season. Thank you, Jo Ann and all the women who helped this year.
Our Advent celebration begins next Sunday as families from our church family light the candles leading up to the Christ Candle on Christmas Eve. Advent is not necessarily Baptist in origin but it is a great way to prepare and lead us up to this important holiday. This year I pray we remember the Biblical importance of Christmas and just not what’s under the tree.
Enjoy your families this Christmas season and please tell your children why we celebrate. The
addiction of presents for ourselves has become completely out of control. Decorating, parties, eating, and all the rest most times have nothing to do with Jesus. I’m also guilty of this problem but at least I’ll admit it and realize we are far from celebrating properly. It’s not your Birthday.

                                                 Your Pastor,

Women On Mission:
Beginning on December 1st, the Women on Mission will be selling the red votive candles for $25.00 each in honor/memory of family, friends.  Hello Everyone! It’s December, so that means it’s parade time. The parade date is December 1st at 2 PM, so I need any youth that’s available to walk and help to get with me or Pam Bullington. We will be handing out gloves and scarves. Also, we will be helping the WOM that day with their annual Merry Mart and bake sale.
I have lots of information now on our trip to The Extreme Youth Conference in Branson, MO. On December 27 - 29th. We are going to try to leave at 6 am on Thursday. We will be staying at Best Western Center Point. I have the address and phone number also if anyone would like it.

Our first session will be Thursday night at 7:30 that will last around 3 hours and led in worship by Jordan Howerton Band, Ledger, Brock Gill, and Toby Mac.
The next morning our session starts at 9:30. We will be led in worship by Colton Dixon and Johnny Hunt. That session will last 2 ½ hours.
Friday night session starts at 7:30 and will be led by Jordan Feliz, Tom Richter and Newsong. We will have some free time Friday, so we are trying to decide what to do. But, the kids will need money for food and whatever else they may want to buy. The hotel we are staying at does have continental breakfast, so that’s 2 meals they won’t have to worry about. I want to thank Bill
& Christy Mercer for their donations for this trip and also for volunteering to go with us. We will have a total of 5 adults and 10 kids going. We’re all very excited about this trip.
I want ot thank everyone for their continued support of the youth group and for their prayers.
                                                                                                                         God Bless,
