´╗┐Bro. Don says,
1 CORINTHIANS 15:57-58 Thanks to God, which giveth us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my
beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that
your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Read the above
scripture, dedicate yourself to be; STEADFAST &
UNMOVEABLE in the work of the Lord, so that we can
experience VICTORY. As the church searches for your next
Pastor, EVERYONE needs to allow God’s Holy Spirit to work.
Galations 5:22 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law. The way that works
is; The fruit of the Spirit (from God to us), is love, joy, peace,
(and from us to our relationship with others is), longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance; against
such there is no law.
The Pulpit Committee is established and will be seeking to
fill the Pastor position as soon as possible. They need your
cooperation, as this is a monumental task. I will try to
encourage the Church, every member, to the best of my ability,
as I work as your Pulpit Supply. Everyone needs to pray and
believe that God has the right Man to lead and guide the
church to new heights.
                                                          We can have VICTORY
                                                                    Bro. Don Layman

Women On Mission met January 13 with 15 ladies
and one guest attending. We welcomed long time
member, Frances Alsup back. She has been missed!
Our speaker for the gathering was Bro. Mike Loftin,
Pastor of Bokerton Baptist Church. Bro. Mike
presented so much interesting information about his
mission trip to Africa along with some of their
handicrafts for our enjoyment. A question and answer
session followed and refreshments of “yummy”
chicken and dumpling casseroles and cornbread
prepared by Elizabeth Hardesty and pies from Sharon
Johnston were served. Thanks to the ladies for these
wonderful goodies!!
During the business portion of the meeting it was
brought to my attention that many of our church
members may not know that we can contribute all year
long to our ongoing ministries and missions such as
the Annie Armstrong Easter offering and Lottie Moon
Christmas offerings as well as the things for our
nursing home and Easter Basket ministries. Boxes are
in the fellowship hall for the nursing home and you
may see me if you have items for the Easter Baskets
since those things will be stored in another room.
When you give donations for the upcoming Annie
Armstrong Easter offering, please be sure to mark
your envelope and your check for that amount before
placing it in the offering plate or giving it to Brenda in
the office. Of course, there will be special envelopes
placed in the pews and on tables for the Weeks Of
Prayer. The Annie Armstrong goal has been set for
$3,000.00 again this year. Please pray about the
amount or amounts you will be giving for these
important ministries. It was also decided that we
would invite other churches to participate in our
Easter Basket ministry since the volume has increased
so much in the last few years. In the past, Temple and
Kinfolks Ridge have helped and we thought other
churches and even denominations might want to get
involved too. Letters are going out to the different
churches. We feel this would be a wonderful
community involvement effort.
God Bless You All and Thank You for your
prayers, support and continued encouragement.

                                                  Jo Ann and Hope

 Dear members of First Baptist,
I want to thank you for the meal you had for my
family as we grieved over the loss of my dear momma.
I have such fond memories growing up in the church
as my mom & daddy set good examples for us.
Whether it was youth puppets, Sunday School
teaching, chaperoning church camp, to daddy’s 40
years as a deacon - we were given stellar examples of
a Christian upbringing. The kindness shown will not
be forgotten.
