A Word From Your Pastor:
Happy June to everyone! Exciting month ahead for
FBS. Lots going on this month with the church picnic,
convention for the pastor, youth camp and VBS. An
active church is a great sign that Jesus is doing
something within our mist and we should join HIM.
Plug in where needed please,  as we enjoy this first
month of summer.
Church picnic this Sunday at 4 pm. I hope all can
come out and join us for fun and fellowship.
Obviously last year the Horseshoe champions, Shawn
and Pastor Jimmy were both under the weather and
gave up their trophy but it looks like they will regain
the crown once again this year! Also added to our
picnic this year will be a wiffle ball game which should
be epic.
Huge event to be a part of will be our VBS the 17th
- 19th. Please get with Ewanda and find your spot to
help with this year’s event. VBS is an important part
of our evangelism outreach each year and I pray it is a
huge success with children being saved. YOU can
help so be there or be square.
Summertime is busy, busy and I realize that.
Vacations and events all summer puts our attendance
in the low numbers but regardless if you’re gone a bit
don’t forget your tithe to the church. Our existence
depends on it and the LORD expects us to tithe our
money that HE gives us. All that we have is from HIM
so tithe and watch the LORD bless you.
Have a great JUNE!! Use sunscreen and stay cool!

Women On Mission held their monthly get together on
May 13. The theme was, “In The Garden of Life”. 14
members were present. We welcomed Shirley Figgins back
after her surgery and rehab period. Patsy Hubbard was also
back following her recent surgery. A devotional called,
“Flowers or Weeds” in God’s Garden” was given and a
game of “Name the Flowers” was played with prizes
awarded. A short discussion followed concerning foster
children and it was decided that we would check with
Children’s Services and provide for some of their needs for
the care of these children.
Sadly, we didn’t reach our $4,000.00 Annie Armstrong
goal this year. We received about half of that. Please begin
praying and saving for our Lottie Moon Christmas
offering. It will be Christmas in a few months.
We have begun collecting for Southgate Prayer Baskets
and lists for needed items, along with a list of Blessing
Box needs has been placed on the side hall table as well as
the wicker table in the fellowship hall. Other missions and
ministries discussed include “Christmas in August” gifts
for missionaries in the field and a 9/11 Memorial dinner
for the fire department, law enforcement and other disaster
workers, as well as the mayor. Relationships are so
important to God’s people.
Our next meeting will be held June 10 at 6 pm in the
fellowship hall.

This month there isn’t a whole lot going on with the music
department. I do want to say thank you to the church for the new
laptop for the sanctuary and the new software program that
promises to make our lives so much easier...once we learn to use
it. We have swapped from Easy Worship to Media Shout. If there
is anyone who is interested in learning to use the new software,
or if you’ve used it before and would like to help out, we need
you!  I will be doing a training day Saturday, June 8th at 5 PM. If
you would like to help us out with the new media or with running
sound in the sanctuary for Sunday morning and Sunday nights,
just let me know.
From now on, I will be using a rotating schedule for special
music. If you see your name come up on the screen or in the
bulletin for special music and you’re not able to do it that day,
please let me know, I will go to the next name on the rotation.
Also, if there is a special that you would like to sing, instead of
waiting on your rotation day, let me know. If you are not on the
rotation schedule and would like to be, please get with me so I
can put you there. If you are not sure if you’re on it or want to be
removed from the schedule, just ask me and I will help you out.
I’m hoping this will be easier on all of us.
I guess that’s all that’s going on right now. Have a great
summer and I’ll see you Sunday!
                                             Singing His Praises,

Hello Everyone!! Camp is coming up very soon. We leave for
Crossings camps at Jonathan Creek on Wednesday, June 12th at
noon. We will return Sunday, June 16th. I have handed out all the
paperwork telling how to register your youth and also a packing
list. If you haven’t done so, please get them registered as soon as
possible. If you have any questions, please get in contact with
me. We have a small group going this year, with a few new ones,
so that’s exciting. Again, I can not speak highly enough about
this camp. Everything they do there is centered around the
gospel. Even their fun activities is connected. This year’s theme
is Pursue. They will be in the book of Matthew to learn what it
takes to pursue a life following Jesus and to become a true
disciple. We have had some big help getting to go to camp this
year. I want to thank each and everyone personally for their
donations and help. We also had a very large donation from an
anonymous donor. Thank you very much to that person. This has
helped ease the cost of camp for our youth families this year. I
will forever be grateful.
After prayerful consideration, I have decided to step down
from my position of youth leader. This will be my last month
with the kids. I ask that you be in prayer for the preacher and
deacon body as they meet to consider the next step. I have so
much to say about my time in this position and to the many
people that have supported us. I will address this more in-depth
the next newsletter. Pray for us as we prepare for camp and our
time there.
                                                                                  God Bless,
