 Week of Prayer March 6 - 13
Our Goal: $3,000.00
Notes From Bro. Doug:
If God is blessing our church, does that mean He is showing us favor for our faithfulness and our hard work? I say a HUGE yes!!! I am so encouraged with what is going on at FBC. We are seeing great numbers in youth group, in Women On Mission, in Brotherhood, in worship services and somewhat in Sunday School. So if you find yourself not in the “Christian” way, we have plenty of ways to help you get back on track. Ask yourself, “When was the last time I told anyone about Jesus?” We have things going on for all ages. Jump in and be joyful and thankful for FBC. Please pray for your entire church staff. I believe we are all doing a pretty good job. God is blessing!!!

The church calendar sure stays full each month. Praise the Lord for that!!! That means we are not pew sitting, but we are reaching others for Jesus and growing together through studying God’s Word and fellowship. We started a new College and Career Sunday School class. We had a great time at the Soup-er bowl party at the parsonage. The youth put on a great meal for the Senior Adults. Some of our women went to the conference at Temple Baptist. JoAnn Morgan opened her home and was the host for the WOM meeting. The nursing home ministry is in full swing. The Wednesday night meals and attendance is going well. We are studying the book of Galatians. We are finding out 5 things that God can’t do. The FBC Christian Sportsman Club put on a meal for the Men’s Ministry. The choir is working on a musical called, “Experiencing God.” Some helped with the R-3 party. Some men went to the Men’s conference at Tallapoosa. The deacons had an outing at Reelfoot. And the Brotherhood put in another great breakfast for the men of the church. This and more all happened in February…WOW.
We want to thank Pam Bullington for making 100’s of valentine suckers for the youth to sell for their youth fund. The youth are going to really have a struggle to raise enough money for church camp and to have money just to do things through the year. So when they have a fund raiser…spread the word!!! They have Kraft cook books in the fellowship hall. Take one and give a donation to Bro. Daniel or the church office…it will go to the youth fund.

We have great things going on here at FBC. Make sure you are taking advantage of all the opportunities for you and your kids and youth and grandchildren. Your attendance and giving of your time, service and tithes is expected and appreciated. You will reap the benefits…that’s biblical!!!                   Bro. Doug
Casserole Ministry:
Susan Pinkerton is getting the casserole ministry up and going. She will have casseroles in the freezer ready for families coming home from the hospital, or will be given to someone who has been sick and will be used during funerals and any other occasion that might arise. If you want to help make the casseroles, see Susan. They will be made in the church kitchen and stored in the church freezer. If you know of someone who needs a casserole, see Susan or the pastor, please do not take one without permission.
Mission Moments:
Women on Mission held their regular monthly get together on February 14 in the beautifully decorated home of JoAnn Morgan with 21 attending. Carolyn Robertson opened the evening with prayer and Margaret Nash led in a game of Valentine Trivia. First, Second and Third prizes were awarded to the winners. Fran Cook gave the Prayer Calendar Devotional and Missionary Bookmarks were given to each lady as a reminder to pray for those missionaries with February 14 birthdays. Susan Pinkerton gave each lady a gift of hand cream and Valentine pins were presented to all, along with “hug” coupons. During the business portion, it was decided to set the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering goal at $3,000.00. The Week of Prayer for this mission offering begins March 6. Please be much in prayer for this goal. WOM will have two bake sales to raise funds for this mission effort and Marilyn Boyd and Susan Pinkerton agreed to chair these events. More information concerning these sales will be posted on the mission bulletin board and at various other locations around the church and community. We are still collecting school uniforms, socks and underwear and also agreed to collect pillow cases for the upcoming mission trip to Haiti. Boxes are in the fellowship hall for your convenience. Mission trip coordinator, Susan Pinkerton reported on the recent meeting of the Youth Committee and their plans to involve the youth in fundraisers for the various mission projects and for camp this summer.
Our next meeting will be held March 14 with the theme “Fragrance Of Life”. The church fellowship hall will be transformed into a “Rainbow Inn” for the occasion. Won’t you plan to attend?
Please pray for our WMU and Women On Mission organizations and our many projects, as well as God’s guidance in all we do. Pray that God will raise up new and enthusiastic leaders in the new year and the years to follow.
                                                 Prayerfully Yours,                                                                             Jo Ann Manz

Youth News from Daniel’s Den:
Please let me start off this month by asking for your continued prayers. Not only for me and my family, but more importantly for the Youth Ministry of this church and community. The challenge here is great, but I know with God, continued prayer, along with the awesome support that we’ve seen already God will be glorified to the fullest through your students. I just want to express how excited I am to be a part of what is going on not only here, but in God’s plan as a whole. We are seeing awesome ideas coming from students as well as the Youth Committee for the near future.
The Youth Committee is meeting very frequently in these past couple months and trying to get a lot of things going for your students. I would like to encourage the Youth Committee as we have seen some new members who have jumped on board and have been a huge help already. In addition to these, I would also like to encourage ALL Youth Committee members to attend meetings if possible, and be involved in what is going on with these awesome kids. It is a huge blessing that I am sure you will not want to miss.
Be ready - The youth will be starting a fundraiser coming up in March selling Coca-Cola products at discounted rates, this has a HUGE potential to raise a lot of money for the Youth Fund so please be in prayer for and encourage the students to go out and sell. We will have more details in the coming weeks. We also have a few other ideas bouncing around for the kids to get out and raise money not only for camp and outings, but we have seen a big call for ministering in other avenues and the funds will help with these as well.
As far as upcoming outings scheduled, we will be going bowling this Saturday (Feb. 26th) and to Winter Jam 2011 (March 6th) to see a multitude of groups come together for an awesome worship experience. Permission slips have been sent home for both of these events, but if you have seen no such slips, please feel free to hit me up. I have extras.

A very busy and exciting time of year coming up soon and in all the excitement, I don’t want anyone to lose focus on what we are here to do. That is to bring youth to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and build a program to draw youth to HIM. We are raising the future here and are charged in Matthew 19:13-15 to bring children to Christ above all. This comes with a lot of sacrifice as far as time and prayer, but let me tell you from personal is SOOOOO worth the blessings we receive. Just remember, service to the Lord can be the hardest job here on earth, but the retirement plan is out of this world!!!
