Notes From Bro. Doug:

I love this church that God has blessed us with. Thanks for your prayer support, your servant minded support, your financial support and your outreach support. We have a great thing going here at FBC. If you find yourself not involved or wanting to do something for the Lord again, join in and plug in, we are prepared and ready every week to meet your spiritual needs.

Wow...the olive wood cross ministry is in full swing. Many great stories are being told about how these gifts are helping and encouraging others. You have given out 250 mini crosses and 150 large crosses. I have 250 mini and 100 large crosses on their way. Keep using this ministry to help others understand the presence of God through Jesus Christ our risen Lord.

The week of prayer for the North American Mission Board Missionaries is March 1st - 8th. We will have a prayer guide in the bulletin on March 1st. We will start taking up the Annie Armstrong Easter offering on March 8th and continue until Easter. Our goal this year is $3,150.00.

Our first full day of Creative Worship on the third Sunday of each month was a huge success. I have been contacted and spoken to the young and old and all have given rave reviews. Thanks Phillip for your leadership and talent as you lead us in worship each week. Common Ground will be utilized on future Creative Sundays.

The children had a great time with the youth hosting their Valentine Party. Thank you youth department for doing this for our kids. As of this writing, our kids are planning on going to the Discovery Park. Thank you for the donations to help pay for the tickets.

Our numbers have been down in Sunday School and Worship for a few months, but the joy and love from you as a people haven’t dwindled!! Keep coming and keep inviting others to church.

Extreme Arts

FBC Youth Fine Arts Team

We have begun working on a musical called, "Live It to the Max!" to be presented this Spring. This is a totally fun and Rad musical set in the 80's! I know, I know, we’ve done that before! This one really goes all out, though! The music is an awesome mix of 80's Pop, Gospel, Rock and even a 60's style medley. The hair will be big, the colors bright and the music fun! This is probably the easiest musical that we’ve ever done; however, it is also a very powerful production that will challenge you and encourage you to live life the way God intended you the MAX!! We still have plenty of room for new members! You cannot say that this is not your thing if you’ve never tried it! This is an awesome group and ministry to be a part of. We have a big year ahead packed with lots of cool stuff! More on that later. Let me just say that if you have been thinking about giving Extreme Arts a try, this is the year to do it!!

See you Sunday at 4:00 pm

FBC Sanctuary Choir
Sunday nights @ 6:00 pm

We are currently working on the mini-cantata, "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" by Luke Gambill and Johnathan Crumpton which we will present as our Easter Sunday worship service. It is built around the Andrea Crouch Classic and also included some other wonderful songs and hymns. If you would like to be a part of this, please let me know as soon as possible, so that I can get you a book and CD to practice with. We are meeting for rehearsal every Sunday after church. Please don’t let anything hold you back from joining us for this powerful service. God gave you talent for a reason and this is to use it for His glory! This could be a wonderful opportunity to do just that! There are many areas where your availability could be utilized. Maybe you’re not much on singing but you like drama or doing things behind the scenes. I definitely have a place to use you in this special presentation. Singing His Praises Phil

Special Music:
Connor Barksdale is now responsible for putting together our special music on Sunday mornings. If you would like to share a special song, skit, poem, etc, please get with Connor, so she can add you to the calendar.

Common Ground
FBC’s Praise Team

Common Ground is off and running!! Though we no longer have the 9:00 am morning Devotional service, we still have a lot to do!! Beginning this year, our 3rd Sunday Creative worship services will now be known as Creative Sundays! Common Ground will lead the worship in both the AM and PM services on those Sundays. This will also give us a chance to feature skits and songs from Extreme Arts and other special services as well. This past month, our creative worship night featured the acappella vocal group, "Blend" for a fun night of music and fellowship. Our first creative Sunday will be on February 15th and both services will be in the sanctuary. I am so excited about what God will do through our ministry this year! We are also looking for musicians to join our group. We especially need a bass player and guitarist. God gave you talent to use for His glory! We hope you will consider using it in our ministry here at church! If that’s you, just get with me to set up an audition/meeting.

Singing His Praises,

Youth News: No Report this month

Please pray for Bro. Chris as he is being admitted to the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. He will see a GI Doctor there and hopefully find out what is making him so terribly sick. As I, Bro. Doug, write this, I know Chris & Kristy will need prayer support and financial support during this hard time. If you are interested in helping you can give to the Benevolence fund and we will keep it separate & disperse it out as needed.

Children’s Missions (Formerly GA’s & RA’s)

Our children’s mission group seems to be growing each week! We meet every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm, kids up to 4th grade. We are watching a movie on Ester and the kids are really enjoying it. We will be watching it again. The kids are also looking forward to our trip to Discovery Park. We’d love for your little ones to join in on all of the fun with us and bring a friend.
