A Word From Your Pastor:

Let’s MARCH right into Summer!! The weather is beginning to change and we are beginning to feel the springtime coming upon us. March for First Baptist means REVIVAL time, our revival is the 11th - 14th this year with Roger Palmer.

February was a Great month for us as New Members joined our Great church family. I’m excited about the future of our church and can’t wait to see what Jesus is going to do with us. I know we will grow if we continue to follow Jesus in all we do!

As we see the Easter lilies start to come out of the ground we remember a new season is right around the corner and I’m excited to see what will happen next.

Please be in prayer DAILY with our prayer concerns and our Revival that is soon approaching. Pray for our children’s ministry as we see more and more children in our church every Sunday.

ACKNOWLEDGE OUR VISITORS!!!! visitor’s are looking for a place to land. A place they can call HOME. First Baptist NEEDS to be that place. Weekly it seems we have some visitors, so let’s let them know we care for them and want them to become part of our family.

Easter is really close so let’s start preparing our minds for this Precious Ultimate Holiday when Jesus gave His life for us and Rose again claiming Life over Death!!!

In Christ,

Your Pastor

Women On Mission:

We are busy getting Easter baskets ready for our county foster children. We have approximately 144 to do this year. If you would like to help with this project, please get with me. Donations are being taken to help buy supplies for the older kids. This is what I term as the left behind group. If you would like to donate please put your offering in the WOM fund.

We are still working on scarves for the Christmas parade and could certainly use some help with that.

WOM will be meeting on March 5, at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall. Please come and join us, you may have just the idea we need to further our cause.

Pam & Christy

Extreme Arts

We have decided to put "A Distant Thunder" on hold until the Fall. We decided that we’d like to do something a little different and really close out the year with something fun. We are doing a variety show similar to Saturday Night Live, complete with a special guest host, musical guest, and live and recorded sketches. We hope you’ll come out on April 29th at 6:00 pm for a fun-filled night of music, drama, comedy and ministry!

FBC Worship Choir

We are getting ready for Easter with a great musical called, "Rise Again". It is based on the classic Dallas Holm song of the same name and it features some other great music from artists such as Dallas Holm, Sandi Patty, and Dottie Rambo. I can’t wait to start working on this exciting production! I hope you will be a part of it. If you would like to be a part of our choir, just show up on Wednesday night after church. Come join us as we lift up praises to the only One worthy, our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Singing His Praises,

Help Wanted!

I need people to help run sound and multimedia for services and different events. If you are interested, please get with Phil Barksdale, so you can be put on our list. Don’t worry, we will train you and help you to make sure you’re ready to go before we ask you to do this on your own.

Youth News:

Happy March! We are starting a study on the book of Romans. I asked the kids if they had to pick a book of the Bible to study, which one would they pick. Of course, I was very excited they picked Romans since that’s one of my all time favorites.

We had so much fun at the senior adult banquet on Feb. 10th. We had a good turn out even though the weather was not that great. I want to thank the ones that donated gifts for door prizes. A huge thank you to Pam and Hope for always being there and helping for everything I need. Also, to the 3 youth that could help that night, you guys rocked it. They worked so hard that night!

We are going to leave on March 3rd at 9 AM for Winter Jam in Memphis. I will have the tickets with me that morning. We will stop to get breakfast and then head that way.

If your youth have expressed to me that they want to go to camp, they have received a letter about it, if you have not received a letter and your kid would like to go to camp, just get with me. My first deposit is due February 28th, so I’m only going to pay for the ones I know for sure are going. But extra spots can always be added later.

We have started the rentals for the cross ministry. There are order forms all around the church or you can contact me or the office to rent one. We are meeting at the church at 9 AM on March 10th to start putting them out.

We are very excited for the upcoming revival because Roger Palmer will be here. He is the director at Crossings Camps. We always enjoy talking to him every year when we are at camp. He has a huge compassion for the young people . But also we will be attending camp during the week that he’s the camp pastor this year.

Thank you to everyone for all the prayers for us and also all the support we always receive.

God bless,

Kristy Riggs
