Notes From Bro. Doug:

Revival services were awesome. God moved and is still moving. We had 12 decisions for Christ. Thanks to everyone for supporting all the fund raisers. You did great!

I want to thank Temple Baptist, their pastor, Bro. Jim Pilcher and the FBC members who cooked & donated for the meals for the sand bagging crews. Keep praying for the river situation.

We had some outstanding Easter Services and activities. The Brotherhood made an outstanding Sonrise service breakfast. The young adult class sponsored a movie for the kids called, " ’Twas the Night Before Easter." Gary and Amanda did a great job singing. The youth video was fantastic and Leslie Cunningham and April Davis had one of the best indoor Easter egg hunts I’ve ever seen with great prizes. JESUS IS ALIVE!!

This Sunday starts our Memorial Day offering. This takes the place of our Harvest Day offering. On May 22nd we will have a meal at noon, there will be no evening service but we will meet at the library at 3:00 pm for the "Experiencing God Musical". With the memorial offering you can place a memorial or honorarium with a donation of $20.00 this goes toward our goal of $5,000.00, each $20.00 will be a piece of a flag.

Thanks to everyone for your support.

Bro. Doug

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering to date is $3,603.00 Our goal $3000.00

Mission Moments

Women On Mission held their April monthly meeting in the beautifully decorated home of member, Jo Ann Morgan. The Aroma Of The Spirit was the theme of the meeting with scented candles playing a part in that presentation. The ladies were asked to compare different scents with aromas in their lives reminding them of the Holy Spirit dwelling in them, as well as fellow Christians and how we can use that aroma of the Spirit to witness to others. Praise God! We exceeded our $3,000.00 goal for Annie Armstrong thanks to all of you and to the Youth and Children who helped in the various projects for that goal. Our last bake sale at Wal-Mart resulted in a good amount as well. A BIG THANK YOU to Marilyn Boyd & Susan Pinkerton who co-chaired that event and to all who baked goods and those who braved the cold to help with the sale. Also, thank yous to Bro. Doug, Rickey Bell, Nathan Pinkerton and Shawn Maclin who fetched, carried and set up and took down the canopy. The video shown Easter Sunday was put together by Susan Pinkerton and Amanda Maclin. IT WAS AWESOME, as was the cross built by Rickey Bell and displayed with the nails in memory or in honor of someone. The donations received for the nails also went to Annie Armstrong. My special THANKS to those who gave nails in my honor. I love you all!!

I know I am doing a lot of "Thanking", but there is so much going on. Several of our ladies helped put together 95 Easter Baskets given to Family Services for foster children in Pemiscot and New Madrid counties. A special thanks to Jerry Wilson and the patrons of his shop who contributed so much to this ministry. Our next ministry project for our community will be the baking of cookies for the teachers before the next school year. There will be a sign up sheet in the fellowship hall and if you will bake cookies for this event, please sign up. WOM is continuing the collection of socks and underwear for schools during the summer months and our next meeting will be May 9 in the fellowship hall with the theme, "Appealing Aroma of a Positive Witness". I have invited two missionaries to Peru as speakers for that meeting, but have not yet received a response to my invitation. Please pray for our organization and our ministries.

Prayerfully Yours, Jo Ann Manz

We want to thank Pete & Barbara Meales for getting out in the cold to plant 150 Jonquil bulbs for us to enjoy. We also want to thank Tony Moore for keeping the church grounds looking gorgeous.

First Baptist Church Family
