FIRST BAPTIST BEACON

Bro. Don says,
Welcome 2020. I did not think that the WORLD would
last this long. We know that JESUS is coming again! John 14:3
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again,
and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may
be also.” The message of the hour is that everyone needs to get
saved and be ready for His return.. Jesus said in Matthew
24:36, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the
angels of heaven, but my Father only.” For saved people, it
doesn’t matter when, but with all the turmoil, strive, and
anxiety, it is soon a good probability.
Thanks for allowing me to be with the church in the absence
of a Pastor. The church needs to select a pulpit committee,
begin receiving resume’s and keep praying that GOD will
provide the right Man for this church. As long as I can, I will
try to encourage the Saved, comfort those that mourn, Preach
Soul Salvation to the Lost, and maintain a cheerful atmosphere.
With your continued cooperation, we can and will hold up the
name of JESUS, above every name.
In His Service,
Bro. Don Layman
Women on Mission met December 9, in the church
fellowship hall with 7 members and 2 guests
attending. Our theme was, “Unwrapping Spiritual
Gifts” and the program was given by Katia Clay a
local Christian motivational speaker who spoke about
God’s spiritual gifts and how we discover them
through our communication with the Holy Spirit.
Our gifts are revealed as God exposes them during the
different phases of our lives. Katia used a banana to
illustrate how the layers are “peeled” back gradually
during a believer’s life here on earth and how God
intends us to share them with others. The program was
very meaningful, as well as entertaining. A short
question and answer session followed. We exceeded
our Lottie Moon Christmas offering goal this year.
Thank you to everyone who gave to that worthwhile
ministry. This money helps our North American
missionaries in many ways as explained in the
handouts during the Week of Prayer. Refreshments
and a short business session ended the night. We hope
all our members are back for the January meeting on
the 13th when Bro. Mike Loftin of the Bokerton
Baptist Church will give the program on his mission
trip to Africa.
Pray for our church as we search for a pastor and a
song leader and may you have a Blessed Christ Filled
New Year 2020!
