Notes From Bro. Doug:

Revival Time! Are you ready? Revival starts in us, then we see people come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Please Attend.

I hope you listen to the Lord and use the material from Sunday Feb. 26th to lead 1 person to the Lord, before or after Revival. Wouldn’t it be great to baptize 10 -15 people on Easter Sunday April 8!!! Pray and witness and go.

I want to thank the Gideons and the Women On Mission and Dr. Doug Fitzwater for filling in for me during my absence.

Peggy and I want to thank the church for sending us to the conference in Sikeston on March 9th.

Move your clocks up 1 hour on March 11th or you will be late for Revival!!!!

We will take up our Annie Armstrong Easter offering on March 25th during the morning service.100% of the donations goes to our North American Missionaries. I hope and pray all our women will turn out for the Beth Moore Conference on the 24th , led by Christy Mercer. It will be great!!!

Great things are happening and even greater things are coming for the glory of the Lord.

In Christ,

Bro. Doug

First Baptist Youth News:

Your First Baptist Youth Group has been staying very busy with many different activities. A supportive Pastor, Deacon Body, and Youth Committee along with a very loving congregation have a lot to do with the success and growth of our youth group.

We have been having around 20 youth on average for church and church related events. Activities are being planned by the Puppet and Drama ministries to provide a presentation during our Easter service.

On February 11th we took part in the 30 hour famine with 14 of our youth taking part. This event was a period of doing without. Our kids were open minded and stayed positive. The knowledge of how fortunate we are compared to other parts of the world is now understood by those involved. These youth now have a new appreciation of the lives they live. We want to thank the Brotherhood for cooking the breakfast before the famine started and the Women On Mission group for the lunch after Sunday service to break our fast. The food was great and we appreciate all of the support. The youth raised $985.00 which will be sent to India through World Vision. This money will provide enough food and health care to one needy child for around 34 months. GOOD JOB YOUTH!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

On February 18th our youth participated in a regional Baptist Youth Valentines Banquet held at First Baptist in Portageville this year. Thanks to Bro. Jim DeReign for driving the church van.

On February 26th we headed south to Tupelo, Mississippi the birth place of Elvis for Winter Jam 2012. We took 12 of our youth and this was a blessing to all who went. Thanks to Pam Bullington for driving her car and getting the concert information together. To see almost 20,000 people with most of the crowd being young adults who were praising God and showing their love for our Lord Jesus was breathtaking and overwhelming. The talent of the bands was awesome and it was evident that God’s hands were all over this event. If you have never attended one of these events you have missed out. We had four of our twelve youth stand up to accept Jesus for the first time or to rededicate themselves to serving the Lord while at this event. AMEN!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! Definitely worth the long trip!!!

Some recent improvements have ben made to the youth room. A new ceiling fan and new light fixtures has made a big difference in the appearance of the room. Thank you to the ones who provided the funding for us to be able to make these improvements. We are currently working on updating the youth section of our church website . Look for upcoming activities and photos at

We are now focused on FUNDRAISING for church camp this summer. We have 15 spots reserved and will not have any problems finding the kids who want to go. Money is the issue! Each youth is required to make a $150.00 deposit for their spot then we will try to raise the rest of the 350.00 it cost for each to attend camp. We are selling/renting wooden crosses for your yards through Easter at $10.00 each (what a great deal). We are doing the Nails for Service again for Easter. The forms will be in your Sunday bulletins & will be on tables around the church. You will be asked to buy Krispy Kreme doughnuts, etc. please support these fundraising efforts. Keep praying for our Youth Group.

A special thanks to your minister who sang and shared the special arrangement of Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone). We left warm weather in Florida to come to cold Missouri - however the warmth of your love and hospitality made our journey eaiser.

P.R.A.I.S.E. Report:

The FBC p.r.a.i.s.e. Team is back!! As I stated before, (kindergarten through sixth grade) will be using the gift of music and drama to bring people into the church. Last week began our "first" rehearsal for the Easter program. " ’Twas the Time Before Easter:

The Musical," coming in April 2012! We had quite a few attend, but several were absent due to illness. Please pray for the children as many in our schools are sick with the flu.

Thank you so much for praying for Vaughn and our family during the month of January. It has been hard and we don’t always know why we go through things-except to strengthen us in the Lord; however, we could not have made it without the prayers and support of you at FBC. (James 1:2, 3, 4) "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (V. 12) Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." Once again, thank you so much for being there for us.

The FBC p.r.a.i.s.e. team is looking forward to planting more seeds for the Kingdom of God. We have not yet decided on individual parts for the musical as of yet, but as usual, there will be parts for EVERYONE.

God continues to bless my life through these children. We CAN change the world by influencing these young lives and by trusting God will work through them. Please continue to pray for the children on the FBC p.r.a.i.s.e. team. Thank you again for your support and Praise the Lord!

In His Service,

Morgan
